Berberine and the components of metabolic syndrome

A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized placebo-controlled trials pooled the effect of berberine on individual markers in people diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. Across the pooled trials berberine reduced triglycerides, fasting plasma glucose and waist circumference against placebo.
